- APA compiled all of our flooding and disaster recovery resources into a single Hurricane Matthew-specific landing page. We hope that this information will be helpful to you and your members throughout the recovery process. Additionally, quarterly webinars as part of the FEMA-sponsored Planning Information Exchange are ongoing. These webinars are designed to facilitate peer-to-peer learning and exchange of disaster recovery, mitigation, and long-term resilience information. There is a significant archive of past webinars that you may find useful.
- APA is interested in hearing members’ stories and first-person accounts of the impacts and on-the-ground assessments of recovery efforts. We are interested in sharing these stories on the APA website, with an eye toward spreading information of recovery and long-term planning efforts related to Hurricane Matthew. If you have a story that you’d like to share about Hurricane Matthew, please reach out to the APA South Carolina Communications Officer, Allison Hardin, at ahardin@cityofmyrtlebeach.com.
- APA’s Community Planning and Assistance Teams (CPAT) program is designed to provide high-quality planning assistance to communities in need. Since 2011, CPATs have assisted in planning efforts for 22 communities. If you are interested in the CPAT program or in developing a CPAT program for your chapter, please contact me.
