The Transportation Planner acts as a staff level resource for both the City of Anderson and the Anderson/Clemson Area Transportation Study (ACATS) Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). The Transportation Planner performs professional transportation planning assignments and may coordinate with local, regional, State and Federal agencies, citizen advisory committees, City departments, and elected officials. This position may make presentations to community groups and decision-making authorities, including the City Council or ACATS Policy Committee. The class works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision.
Requires Bachelor’s degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in urban or regional planning, public administration, engineering or a closely related field.
