Please complete this form to propose a session for the Spring Conference on May 3, 2024 in Orangeburg. Note that all elements are considered to be in draft form; conference organizers will work with the Session Leader to refine the session, gather additional information if necessary, and ensure APA certification maintenance credibility. The length of each session may be 60 – 90 minutes depending on the final schedule of the program. Conference sessions are encouraged to be interactive, utilizing panels, while inviting attendees to comment and question.

Completed forms must be submitted by Monday, March 25, 2024, 3:00 PM to be considered. Final presentations for selected sessions must be submitted by Friday, April 26.

2024 Spring Conference Session Proposal

APA Certification Maintenance (CM) Criteria (1) are designed to meet a specific planning-related training objective; (2) are led by one or more experts on the subject. An expert is a professional who has made a contribution to the profession through practice, teaching, research or publications; completed works that proclaim individuality and mastery of the principles of planning taught; and whose work demonstrates outstanding quality and professionalism; (3) are designed to teach subject matter appropriate in depth and scope and at a level beyond a planner with at least two years of professional planning experience; (4) are non-promotional in nature; (5) address demonstrated educational needs; (6) communicate a clearly identified educational purpose or objective; (7) use learning methodologies and formats that are appropriate to the activity's educational purpose or objectives; (8) use evaluation mechanisms to assess an activity's quality and relevance.
