Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments (WRCOG) is seeking a Senior Planner for its Planning and Transportation Department. This position will support the organization’s MPO and local planning programs. This position will help coordinate key areas of WRCOG’s MPO program in North Carolina and South Carolina and implement activities and initiatives as the designated recipient of Federal Transit Administration funds. This position will manage transportation grants and projects, i.e. Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A). This position may also provide assistance to local planning commissions, boards and citizen advisory groups in the preparation and implementation of plans and programs, and draft comprehensive plans, zoning regulations, ordinances/codes, hazard mitigation plans and other planning studies. Undergraduate degree in Planning or related field with 7 or more years of relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree in Planning with emphasis in transportation or urban planning with 5 or more years of relevant work experience. Certification with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is required. Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
