Salary: $73,855.41 – $83,087.34

Description

The Planning and Housing Administrator leads all permitting matters associated with residential and commercial construction projects within the City of Statesboro under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Planning & Development. This position administers all housing initiatives funded and/or sponsored by the City.

Examples of Duties

  • Administers the Statesboro Housing Rehabilitation Program.
  • Manages permitting workflow for residential and commercial projects.
  • Provides guidance on zoning matters for developers, staff, and elected officials.
  • Manages grants related to housing development and infrastructure, including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
  • Approves contractors for housing rehabilitation projects; reviews and signs pay requests.
  • Prepares draft reports for the Planning Commission.
  • Serves as liaison for the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (GICH) and the Land Bank.
  • Represents the City to the public, including potential program participants, and provides guidance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public Administration, Engineering or a closely related field;
  • Three (3) years of experience in a related field;
  • Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience; and
  • Valid State of Georgia Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification
