Position Overview
Under supervision of the Long Range Planning Manager, may perform general and specialized planning studies with the goal of guiding orderly development in the County and its sub-areas, including community and area plans, corridor studies, feasibility studies, master plans, strategic plans, as well as zoning ordinance and land development regulation text amendments, to support the County’s Community, Area, and Comprehensive Planning Program; performs research related to demographics and other socioeconomic data; works closely with community groups, organizations, and associations to share information and educate residents about growth and development within their respective communities, develop goals, objectives, and implementation strategies, and establish a vision for each community; liaises with internal and external stakeholders, governments, and non-profit agencies to coordinate and collaborate on multi-jurisdictional plans and projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Geography, Real Estate Development, or related field required; supplemented by one year of experience in urban or regional planning; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
