Position: Subdivision Planner II
Job Summary: Under direction from the Subdivision Administrator, this position processes Preliminary Plan, Final Plat, and Financial Security applications (prepares reports, processes cases, and maintains appropriate tracking for cases); reviews plats for compliance with County regulations; performs research related to subdivision applications and their requirements; and provides assistance to the public on subdivision regulation questions. Consequence of error may be high, so the ability to interpret information quickly and accurately is important. As a Planner II, the employee is expected to conduct themselves in a manner that engenders trust from their manager, the department, and elected/appointed officials. Planner II’s are also expected to see the consequences of actions within the department, on other departments and agencies, and in the greater community, and bring forward solutions to a wide variety of issues before and as they appear. Occasionally leads staff work projects and may assist with the administration and supervision of employees and interns.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in planning, landscape architecture, community planning, or related field required; supplemented by three years of experience in analyzing and preparing staff recommendations regarding planning applications; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Prior experience or education related to finance and accounting preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina Driver’s License.
Salary: $60,845.77
