POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Subdivision Administrator, reviews preliminary, summary, simple, and exempt plats, plans, applications, and other documents to determine compliance with the Greenville County Land Development Regulations and Zoning Ordinance and other pertinent local, state, and federal regulations. Must be able to read plans and planning-related documents, ownership documents, preliminary plans, plats, and have an innate curiosity to dig for information and ask pertinent questions. Must be able to provide superior customer service, including specific direction for missing submittal elements, and be able to prioritize and handle multiple active projects at once. Participates in various meetings and committees, such as Planning Commission and Subdivision Advisory Committee, community and neighborhood organization meetings, etc. Prepares staff reports and assists in making presentations; and provides advisory services to engineers, surveyors, real estate attorneys, developers, and citizens regarding subdivision activities and applications. Coordinates with related departments for specific requirements and approval conditions for various subdivision applications. Reports to the Subdivision Administrator.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Community Planning, or related field required; this classification is considered an entry-level professional position, however previous work experience is preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver’s license.
SALARY:
