Job Summary
The purpose of this job is to research and prepare information related to current planning and zoning services. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the public by answering questions, researching issues, and providing information to elected officials, members of appointed bodies, other Athens-Clarke County staff, Planning Department customers, and the general public, and performing additional tasks as assigned.
When assigned to Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS): The purpose of this job is to assist in the administration of public transportation and intermodal planning grants for the Unified Government, and to assist in the administration of the Metropolitan Planning Organization. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing grant reimbursement requests, preparing grant applications, preparing topical reports and analysis, interpreting laws, serving as a liaison with other government departments and public agencies, corresponding with the general public, managing the MACORTS website, and performing additional tasks as assigned.
Minimum Training & Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Historic Preservation, or related field with one year of work related experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
