The Stewart Community Planning Team is growing! If you are interested in being involved in exciting planning projects involving comprehensive plans, small area plans, development ordinance writing and other planning-related projects this position is for you. Our projects are diverse, engaging and data driven – resulting in quality plans and ordinances that strengthen communities across the Carolinas. We are open to generalists and/or subject matter experts (i.e. land use, housing, urban design, transportation, environmental planning, GIS, etc.). The position is being advertised for Columbia, South Carolina, Greenville, South Carolina, Charlotte, North Carolina or remote. The right person is more important than the location.

In this exciting role, you will be working with a team of planners and designers on a variety of planning projects. You will be expected to work on project teams in the development of Comprehensive Plans, Development Ordinances, Small Area Plans, and other Planning and Design studies. Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in City Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, or equivalent.
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) designation required.
  • 5+ years of professional planning experience including municipal/county planning, long-range planning, development code writing, and public engagement.
