Senior Planner
Knoxville-Knox County Planning
Salary: $55,000 (DOQ)

Job Responsibilities
Review rezoning and plan amendment requests.
Coordinate and conduct reviews of development plans and subdivision plats.
Prepare and present recommendations for the Planning Commission, City Council, and County Commission.
Assist residents, business owners, developers, and others with questions about land use and application submittal.
Lead initiatives and projects related to ordinance updates and process enhancements.
Provide leadership and support to the agency’s customer service counter.
Represent the agency at interdepartmental meetings.
Participate in community meetings, some of which may occur during evening or weekend hours.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in urban planning or related field.
Four or more years of relevant experience.
Membership in American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) or the ability to obtain certification within two years of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in urban planning
Supervisory experience
AICP membership
