APA South Carolina Conference Scholarship Program
The APA South Carolina Executive Committee believes that attendance at chapter and national conferences contributes to the professional development of the individual member, to the overall performance of the Chapter, and ultimately APA. To encourage attendance in 2018, scholarships will be provided as follows:
APA National Conference
Amount: Not to exceed $4,000
Scholarships available: Two Awards (Up to $2,000 each)
Deadline to apply: February 1, 2019
APA South Carolina Winter-Spring Conference
Amount: Not to exceed $300
Scholarships available: 1
Deadline to apply: February 1, 2019
APA South Carolina Summer Conference
Amount: Not to exceed $300
Scholarships available: 1
Deadline to apply: May 31, 2019
APA South Carolina Fall Conference
Amount: Not to exceed $400
Scholarships available: 1
Deadline to apply: September 6, 2019
*Note: The APA South Carolina Executive Committee will notify all applicants regarding the success of their applications. The successful applicant for the APA National Conference scholarship will also receive a check in the amount indicated above to use towards the APA Conference registration. The successful applicants for the APA South Carolina conferences will receive notification of their success and will be asked to fill out paper registration forms for the applicable conferences (will not receive checks) and will be asked to pay any additional fees to APA South Carolina by check.
To be considered, you must submit a letter that addresses all of the following criteria:
1. You must be a member in good standing of APA South Carolina for at least one year;
2. You must demonstrate financial need;
3. You must not be a student; and
4. You must not have previously received a conference scholarship from APA South Carolina.
The successful applicant for the APA National Conference scholarship will be required to submit a journal-style article regarding his/her experience at the conference for publication in the Chapter newsletter (article will be published in the next available Chapter newsletter following the conference). The article must be submitted no later than two weeks following the end of the APA National Conference.
