Position: Principal Planner, Fairfield County

Salary Range: $39,421.20 – $47,320.00

Job Description: The Principal Planner supervises and participates in advanced, highly-complex professional planning activities. Under limited supervision, coordinates the activities of the Community Development Department to ensure the proper enforcement and administration of the County zoning and development standards and ordinances and the development, administration and implementation of the County’s Comprehensive Plan. Performs related administrative, supervisory and technical duties as required. Reports to the Community Development Director.

Minimum Qualifications and Other Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in city and regional planning; public administration, business administration or other related field supplemented by three to five years of progressively responsible experience in planning/zoning administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
