Job Description Summary
DeKalb County Planning & Sustainability department seeks Planning Manager
Under general supervision of the Deputy Director, this role administers the zoning code and other related ordinances; researches, writes and proposes Zoning Ordinance text amendments, and works with developers and builders to formulate proposed projects in compliance with County code. This position routinely makes presentations to the Planning Commission and Board of Commissioners. This position supervises up to 10 administrative and professional staff. Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning or a related field required, Master’s preferred; five years of progressively responsible experience in planning and zoning in a community similar in size to Dekalb County preferred, three years of supervisory experience preferred, and seven years of experience in the field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
