General Job Description
Bryan County, GA is seeking a full-time Planning Manager.  This position reports to the Assistant Community Development Director and oversees long-range planning projects and the permit and development review process.  The Planning Manager represents the Community Development Department at public hearings, prepares staff reports, reviews plans and permit applications, supervises the planner and planner tech, assists with the preparation of the Comprehensive Plan, assists with revisions/amendments to the Unification Development Ordinance, and other duties as assigned by the Community Development Director.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Environmental Sciences or related field required; Master’s degree preferred; five years of progressively responsible experience in local government planning, zoning, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.  AICP certification preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.  Supervisory experience required. Strong computer skills required. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, GIS, Adobe DC and other basic computer programs.  Experience with digital permitting and plan review preferred.
