The City of Wilson Development Services Department is seeking creative problem solvers to fill two positions with the Land Development team.  This is a great opportunity for someone who likes working in development review and would also enjoy involvement with other planning initiatives.

Wilson is moving forward with the implementation of its award winning Comprehensive Plan that has led to more than $150 million in redevelopment projects in its historic downtown, rapid industrial expansion in its corporate parks, and investment in new recreational improvements.  The plan also led to a $10 million TIGER Grant for the now redeveloping US 301 corridor.  The Land Development team is an extremely important part of this success.

The Land Development team is responsible for providing outstanding customer service and administering and updating our award winning Unified Development Ordinance that was fully re-written in 2012.  They manage the Technical Review Committee and provide staff support to the Planning and Design Review Board and Board of Adjustment.  This team also manages our Hazard Mitigation Plan and its implementation.
