General Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to work with the general public, development community, and elected and appointed officials regarding land use policies, regulations, and zoning. Maintaining accurate knowledge of adopted codes and regulations so as to review projects and provide advice to the communities listed above. Serve in a shared planner role to provide technical planning and development assistance, including but not limited to research, administrative assistance, preparation and presentation of rezoning and Board of Zoning appeals requests, and other planning and administrative functions as determined on the basis of staff availability, expertise and assignment by supervisor. Serves as acting director in absence of Planning Director.

Minimum Education and Training:
Bachelor’s degree.
Three (3) to Five (5) years of planning or related experience.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: AICP and/or Certified Floodplain Manager
