The Town of Louisburg, NC (about 40 minutes commuting distance from Raleigh) is seeking Applicants for the position of Assistant Planning and Zoning Administrator.  This is an interim position.  The current Planning and Zoning Administrator is planning to retire in June 2023.  The role of this position is to acclimate the successful applicant to the duties and responsibilities of the P& Z Administrator’s job until the individual advances to that position in June.  The Town of Louisburg is currently undergoing rapid change following years of very little growth. The position will work under direction of the Planning and Zoning Administrator until the transition is completed in June 2023.  Job duties will include, but not limited to, staffing various Boards and Commission, reviewing site plans and plats, issuing permits, investigating code violations and functioning as a point of contact with the public and business community for land development matters.

The position qualifications require an undergraduate degree in urban planning, public administration, architecture, or other related field and at least 5 years’ experience.  AICP certification preferred but not required.  Salary dependent on qualifications.  The position will remain open until filled.  A complete job position description is available upon request by emailing pslayter@townoflouisburg.org.
