$60,870 to $77,946 / DOQ

General Job Description:
Undertakes and coordinates a broad range of planning activities including comprehensive planning, drafting of zoning and development regulations, applying new urbanist planning and design principles, coastal resilience planning, bicycle and pedestrian planning, historic preservation, regional planning and intergovernmental cooperation. The Long Range Planner analyzes projected growth, new legislation, development trends, and other planning factors; identifies potential impacts and needed plan revisions or modifications; and presents recommendations to the Planning Commission. Good writing and researching skills are a necessity and Knowledge of ArcGIS is a plus.

Minimum Education and Training:
• Bachelor’s degree in planning, geography, landscape architecture, architecture, environmental studies, or a related field plus two (2) or more years of directly related work experience in land use planning or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Design and drawing skills a plus
• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification preferred
