Job Description: Teton County, Wyoming (pop. 21,500), the southern gateway to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks and home to three world class ski resorts, is seeking candidates to fill the position of Planning and Building Services Director.

Under administrative direction from the Commissioners’ Administrator, the Director works closely with the Board of County Commissioners and collaboratively with the Town of Jackson Planning Director on areas of mutual focus, including Long-Range Planning and Transportation Planning. This position also requires significant interaction with the County Attorney’s Office, the Planning Commission, and the community.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a responsive and service-oriented professional, providing exceptional leadership and expertise in the management and oversight of the various department operations.
  • Demonstrate technical competence, vision, consistent follow through, and political astuteness.
  • Possess the ability to provide impartial, well-founded recommendations.
  • Provide strong leadership and administrative management, while mentoring and developing staff.

The hiring salary range is $107,246-$127,482. DOQ. There is no state income tax in Wyoming.  Housing and relocation assistance available.
