Located on the Savannah River in the heart of the Central Savannah River Area, the City of North Augusta is home to over 22,000 residents. The City’s riverfront area is the site for Project Jackson, a major, multi-use development located along the Savannah River, which will include a baseball stadium, hotel, retail, residential, and office spaces.
The Director of Planning and Development, plans, controls, directs, manages and supervises the planning and development activities and programs for the City of North Augusta and is responsible for the preparation and implementation of planning and zoning.
- Supervises the interdepartmental review of development plans.
- Supervises the preparation, interpretation and revision of the City’s Comprehensive Plan, land development regulations, re-development plans and special project plans.
- Refers to the City code, zoning and development standards, state and federal laws and regulations, professional reports and analysis, professional publications, etc.
Master’s degree in urban and regional planning, public administration, or related field and three to five years of experience in planning, two of which must have been at the supervisory level, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license. Health insurance and excellent benefits provided.
Salary range $75,631 – $90, 757 DOQ.
