Description
General Overview:
The Chief Inspector and Plans Examiner performs skilled work in conducting field inspections or permitted development to ensure compliance with adopted codes and ordinances of the City, as related to the Commercial and Residential construction and development. Acts as the City’s primary building official and code enforcer. Reports to the City Manager.
The successful candidate will be a solutions-oriented leader who takes a collaborative, team approach in directing the department and in working with other Town leaders. In addition, this person will value customer service and a department that is accessible to the community and to other employees. Engaging the community in meaningful ways will be important to the new Director, and this person will be willing to seek advice, input, and situational context from key community leaders when appropriate.
