The Carolinas Climate Resilience Conference, now in its third convening, will bring together over 300 representatives from the leading agencies and organizations tackling climate-related impacts in the Carolinas. Hosted by the Carolinas Integrated Sciences and Assessments, the conference will be held September 17-19 in Columbia, SC.
With a focus on interaction, the conference program is designed to foster a network of climate adaptation practitioners in the region, learning from one another during participation-driven sessions and engagement activities.
The program covers a wide range of topics and sectors from sea level rise mapping and coastal climate adaptation to best practices in climate communications and resilient natural resources management. One of the key themes running throughout the program this year is a collaborative approach to adaptation, through regional resilience networks, climate science translated for meaningful use, and work within the communities most heavily impacted by recent extreme events such as the October 2015 floods and Hurricanes Matthew and Irma.
